The birth of Calyx Hynan Maxwell Gray
THE DETAILS: Calyx Hynan Maxwell Gray was born on December 28, 2012, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital at 8.10 p.m., weighing 10lb 1½oz.
THE PARENTS: Mum Rhea Hynan-Meade (24) is from Stenhousemuir and is a support worker, as is dad Callum Gray (32) who’s from Falkirk. Calyx is the couple’s first baby and the family live in Denny.
THE PREGNANCY: Rhea said that the pregnancy was problem-free.
THE BIRTH: Calyx was 13 days late so Rhea was induced on December 27. However, the labour didn’t progress and, after a drop in the baby’s heart rate, he was delivered by emergency section.
THE BABY: Calyx is a healthy, happy baby who loves to smile. He did have a milk allergy in the early days but, since his milk has been changed, he’s much happier and sleeps up to 10 hours a night.
THE NAME: Calyx is Greek for Callum, Hynan is part of Rhea’s surname and Maxwell was Callum’s papa’s middle name.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Little Calyx is a first grandchild for Linda and Shaun Hynan-Meade of Stenhousemuir, and a fourth for Mary and John Gray from Brightons.
THANKS: Special thanks to Rhea’s midwives, Rachel and Jill, from the Tulip team.
