The birth of Anna Fraser

THE DETAILS: Anna Fraser was born in Larbert’s Forth Valley Royal Hospital at 3.16 p.m. on May 17, weighing 8lbs 1oz.

THE PARENTS: Originally from Grangemouth, now living in Polmont, mum Lisa (32) is a finance controller in Stirling while dad Paul (35) is a bar manager in Bo’ness. Anna is their second child and was born the day before big sister Ella’s first birthday.

THE PREGNANCY: Lisa’s pregnancy went well except for some pelvic pain she experienced during the final few weeks.

THE BIRTH: Lisa’s labour actually began on her due date. The family were in the middle of an early birthday party for Ella when Lisa had to head into hospital. Six hours later Anna came into the world without a hitch. Lisa and the new baby came home on Ella’s birthday with the best present a one-year-old could get – a wee sister.

THE BABY: Anna is a happy baby who loves a cuddle or two. She sleeps quite well during the night and is usually up and aware through the day. Lisa says most people think Anna is the spitting image of dad Paul.

THE NAME: Anna was the only girl’s name that both Lisa and Paul really liked.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Anna is second grandchild for Richard and Margaret Scobbie of Grangemouth and the third for Alan and Audrey Fraser of Wallacestone.

THANKS: Lisa and Paul thank staff at FVRH and their parents for all their help – especially taking care of Ella’s birthday party while the couple were unavoidably detained.
