The wedding of Nicola Watt and Scott Ramsay

THE COUPLE: Nicola Ramsay (nee Watt) is 33 and works as a biomedical scientist at St John’s Hospital in Livingston, while Scott Ramsay is 33 and an assistant manager at Thornbridge Sawmill. The newly-weds, who are both from the area originally, live in Polmont.

HOW THEY MET: Nicola and Scott had known each other as teenagers through mutual friends but finally got together in 2006.

THE PROPOSAL: Scott proposed while the couple were on holiday in Cornwall. He waited until the very last day of the trip to pop the question and Nicola said that she was over the moon to accept.

THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on May 14 at Broomhall Castle in Menstrie. Over 100 guests attended the ceremony and another 50 joined the celebrations in the evening. The day went perfectly and a great time was had by all.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Nicola’s bridesmaids were her three best friends. Julie-ann Moss, Louise Hamilton and Jackie Denniston. and also her 11-year-old niece Kerry Monro. The flower girl was Scott’s niece, two-year-old Isla Daisy Howell. Scott’s best man was Chris Paige, and the ushers were Graham Erskine and Alan Denniston. Nicola’s nephew, Gregor Monro (14), was the page boy.

THE DRESS: Nicola went for a ’50s-style which was a strapless ballerina dress in ivory.

THE HONEYMOON: The newly-weds spent 10 days in Italy, and travelled to Rome and Sorrento.
