Schoolboy Daniel Louis is The Falkirk Herald Voice of 2012.

The Larbert youngster scooped the top prize in a tightly fought contest at City Nightclub in Falkirk on Sunday evening.

His version of ‘Hallelujah’ wowed the judges – opera star Cheryl Forbes, musical director Gordon Cree and Kevin Reid, business manager from sponsors McDonald’s.

The 12-year-old St Mungo’s pupil wins £250 in cash and a chance to record a CD with sponsor Chris Judge from VoiceJam.

Runner-up was Kyle McLachlan (15) from Grangemouth with his version of ‘Hero’, while Ashleigh Hannah (13) of Stenhousemuir was in third place with her performance of ‘When I Look At You’. They received £100 and £50 respectively and will also get chance to record with VoiceJam.
