Falkirk dance stars’ good moves
Rehearsals for Active Schools Dance competition kick off
Dancers from schools across Falkirk did battle last week in the Active Schools Dance Stars competition.
Eight dance groups were created, one for each of the area’s secondary schools, and were made up with pupils from S1 and S2 from each high school, along with P6 and P7 pupils from the feeder primaries.
Senior pupils choreographed the dances for the youngsters and they all performed the routines at Grangmeouth High last week.
The theme of the event was the Olympics,
The Braes High Cluster were crowned champions on the night - their dance was choreographed by Karen Brown, Cara Maclure and Charlotte Fergus.
The Bo’ness Academy Cluster and Denny Cluster came in joint second place.
There was also a senior showcase on the night, which included dancers from Grangemouth High, Larbert High and Graeme High and ex-pupils from Grangemouth and Larbert High who are now studying performing arts at Motherwell College.
The three winning teams have been invited to perform the routines again at The Children’s Festival in Zetland Park Grangemouth on July 22.
