Have your say

From triumphs to disasters, more than 1000 the people of Falkirk have told their real-life dancing stories to The National Theatre of Scotland ... but there’s one more thing the creative team needs from you.

The Reasons to Dance project will have its theatrical finale from March 27-31 in City Nightclub and it promises to be a night of surprises as the community cast work with top creative talent to immerse you in memories of dancing.

The evening will begin with guests being welcomed into the bar area, where they will instantly be immersed in stories, photographs and videos of dancing.

That’s where you come in – the creative team in the NTS would like your photographs to be part of this show, so they would like you to send them any suitable pictures.

You don’t have to actually be dancing – if you’ve pictures of you and your friends getting ready to go out or all dolled up to hit the town, they want to see them.

And co-directors Gillian Gourlay and Philippa Tomlin would really like to see snapshots on the dancefloor – or dancing anywhere else for that matter.

The more pictures they receive, the better, and they are looking for snaps from every age group, from babies to centenerians and everything in between.

The pictures will all be framed for installation in the show, and you will get your pictures back.

The pictures are only part of what promises to be a unique multi-media experience, where the audience will be encouraged to interact with the performers and explore the venue’s many hidden spaces.

A large community cast from a broad range of ages will bring stories to life through theatre, storytelling and dance, their performance enhanced by City’s state-of-the-art video, projection, sound and lighting systems.
