For Mark and Megan Berry, the vision for this Falkirk house was to enhance its character and create a beautiful family home.
And, after just two short years in the Albert Road traditional semi, the mission has been accomplished.
This sandstone-fronted property is full of light, has a safe, sunny garden, and boasts delightful period features such as cornicing, ceiling roses, stair balustrade, large rooms and a stunning bay window,
Megan said: “We previously lived in a new build, so we really wanted to bring out the character of this house and not hide its features.
“We loved the location, just two minutes from the train station, the south-facing garden and the large and bright rooms.
“We did a lot to it. We stripped the walls and the floors, put in a new kitchen and a downstairs toilet, and made the garden child-safe with fencing and railings.
“One of the things I really like about the house now is the quality of light.
It’s bright, with lots of sun at the back in the evening and it also highlights the kitchen.”
The Berrys, who live with three-year-old son Oscar, are now reluctantly marketing the property due to a change in work commitments, but are leaving it in immaculate walk-in condition.
Megan added: “I think it would be a great house for a young family, maybe also for people who work in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
“It’s a great location and there’s a close wee community here with lots of children of a similar age in the street.
“We will really be very sad to leave this house.”
