The feature that current owner Ella Gillan fell in love with was the first-floor living room, which has three windows; one offering fantastic views of the Clackmannanshire Bridge, another to Airth Castle and its surroundings.

This room also has patio doors to a Romeo and Juliet balcony as well as a focal point fireplace and Amtico flooring.

Downstairs, the family room has French doors that open out onto the garden, making it bright and airy. It connects open plan to the large kitchen, which in turn opens onto a dining area.

The English Rose kitchen units are all oak, which matches the original fixtures and fittings.

“Everything is finished to a very high standard,” said Ella, who moved in nearly three years ago.

“The house was empty for a few years, so things are still in very good condition. All we really did was decorate to freshen up – there was no structural work needed.”

There is also a separate dining room, which Ella and her husband Gordon used as a dining room and office, as there was so much space available.

Another favourite area of the house is the huge family bathroom, with a large corner bath as well as a shower.

Their young grandchildren adore the massive bath, which makes for fun bathtimes.

They also understandably love the garden, which has a play area as well as a patio area, perfect for summer socialising.

“It is south facing, so it gets the sun all afternoon and evening,” said Ella.

“I did a lot of work in the garden, putting in new shrubs, so now it is fairly well established.”

The house also boasts a double garage, which can be accessed directly from the utility room, which leads from the hall.

“It’s really like a separate laundry room – more like the American style,” said Ella.

“It really would make an ideal family home. It’s very light and bright and spacious and it’s a great environment for children.

“It’s also very private – there are only three houses in the cul-de-sac so there’s no one overlooking you.

“And it’s just a really beautiful house!”
