THE COUPLE: Hayley Mackay (32), Cumbernauld, is a scientist for Atuit. Paul Marshall (32) is also from Cumbernauld and is a Mechanical Service Engineer. The couple now live in Bonnybridge with their son, Ben.

HOW THEY MET: The couple are high school sweethearts. They started going out when they were 15 years old and both pupils at Cumbernauld High School.

THE PROPOSAL: Paul surprised Hayley on Christmas Day in 2007. Hayley said: "It was a complete surprise. Paul gave me a big fake ring from Tam Shepherd's. I thought it was a joke at first. I'm still waiting on a diamond as big as the fake one."

THE WEDDING: Hayley and Paul married on August 29 at Kincaid House Hotel in Milton of Campsie.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Hayley's maid of honour was best friend Cheryl Donachie and her niece Lori Bremner was her bridesmaid. Paul's best man was Greig Rose, his best friend from school.

THE DRESS: Hayley wore a Phil Collins dress from the Panache Bridal shop in Glasgow. Hayley said: "It was strapless with lots of sequins and it had a full skirt and a long train. I bought it the same day I found it."

THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds spent their two week honeymoon at a family resort in Turkey with their son Ben.

THANKS: The couple would like to thank Bright Yellow Photography, the staff at Kincaid House and their friends and family for their support.
