Part of a day to remember for many
It was damp on May, 17 when 12 young men from 2nd Larbert (Old Church) left for Edinburgh before 8 a.m. to become part of the Guard of Honour to be presented to Lord Hope of Craighead, Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly and Her Majesty’s personal representative as he attended worship at St Giles Cathedral. They represented our Battalion and joined others from Edinburgh and Leith. The weather improved and Lord Hope took time to chat to many of the ‘guard’ as he inspected the ranks even as the bells of St Giles called everyone to worship.
