Darren Burns and Pamela Marchi

The wedding of Pamela Marchi and Dareen Burns

HOW THEY MET: The pair first met on a night out in Falkirk about nine years ago.

THE PROPOSAL: Darren took Pamela completely by surprise by popping the question during a holiday in Portugal six years ago. He also had the engagement ring she had always wanted.

THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on June 23. The service was at St Francis Xavier Church in Falkirk, and the reception was in the Park Hotel. There were just over 100 guests during the day and over 170 in the evening. The day went perfectly, apart from the unseasonal weather. Pamela said seeing all her guests on the day was lovely.

THE WEDDING PARTY: The bridesmaids were Pamela’s best friends Claire Trotter, and Darren’s cousin Louise Lilley. The best men were Darren’s uncle John Lilley and Darren’s brother Scott Burns. Ushers were Kyle Rodger, Craig Rodger, Craig Peacock, Christopher Verrecchia and Barrie MacKay. Flower girls were the couple’s daughter Caragh Burns, Pamela’s cousin Eve Harkins, and Darren’s cousin Zoe Lilley. Page boy was the couple’s son Cadyn Burns, and Pamela’s son Liam Marchi gave her away along with her dad.

THE DRESS: Pamela wore a Justin Alexander white gown with tulle skirt and crystal detail.

THE HONEYMOON: The family spent 18 days in Spain.

THANKS: Thanks to everyone who attended the wedding and for all the generous gifts.
