Buff Butlering brings in a pretty penny
For Graham Brown, putting a smile on ladies’ faces is all part of the job.
In his role as a buff butler he serves drinks and snacks wearing only a collar, cuffs and a – very – small apron, entertaining women at parties, events and hen dos.
But Graham’s also a happy man himself as his second job has helped take care of the deposit for his first home in Larbert.
The 26-year-old, who also works full-time as a draftsman for a steel fabricator, said: “I found out about it on holiday when I got talking to a bunch of guys, one of who was a buff butler.’’
“I filled out an application form and was interviewed to see if I’d be suitable for the job.
“It’s good money and good fun – you meet a lot of really nice people.
“My friends all think it’s great. They’re always asking me what stories I’ve got from the Saturday night!
“And the money’s definitely good – last month I bought my first flat and it’s all been possible through this extra income.”
Graham has been working as a Butler in the Buff for almost a year and has earned more than £10,000.
His second job fits around his schedule and takes him to local parties and events as far afield as Inverness and Newcastle.
He added: “You can really do whatever jobs suit you.
“And, because you’re making money at the weekend, you’re not spending by going out so it does add up.”
“I have an office job Monday to Friday so this is completely different – and you get to go to hen parties!”
Butlers in the Buff currently has vacancies in the Glasgow and Edinburgh area, and successful applicant can expect to earn around £25 an hour plus travel expenses and tips.
