David Alexander, leader of the SNP Group on Falkirk Council, and his town centre colleague Cecil Meiklejohn, will urge Britain's biggest grocers to think again.

Cutomers have reacted angrily to the news revealed in the Falkirk Herald last week that the firm intends to shut up shop in July.

Many are pensioners living in the tower blocks across the road who have taken advantage of the pharmacy counter as well as value for money shopping for years.

It's bad - pensioners should not be asked to pay for their home care
It's good - social services are always over budget and enough money has been spent on it already.
