Pedestrian may be been struck more than once
A PEDESTRIAN struck by an ambulance may have been hit by another vehicle shortly before.
Police are appealing for any witnesses following the fatal collision on the A9 near Plean.
Ian Christie (29), of Alloa, died in the incident which occurred i
n the early hours of Sunday morning.
Around 4.45 a.m. the ambulance crew felt their vehicle hit something and when they investigated, found Mr Christie's body.
Another ambulance was called and the crew gave first aid but he was already dead.
The ambulance had not been responding to an emergency call at the time of the incident.
Police closed off the Torwood to Plean road while investigations got underway.
Chief Inspector Donald McMillan, head of the road policing unit, said: "A car was seen in the area at the time of the accident with its hazard lights in operation. The car then drove off as the ambulance approached. The ambulance has then struck the man's body.
"We would like the driver of that car to contact us or anyone else who has information about this incident to come forward."
Information can be given at any police station or by calling (01786) 456000.
